HP, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, has named Karen Parkhill as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective August 2024. Parkhill, who currently serves as CFO at Medtronic, brings extensive financial leadership experience to HP. She succeeds Marie Myers, who departed earlier this year to assume the CFO role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Parkhill's career spans significant roles at JPMorgan Chase and Comerica Bank before joining Medtronic in 2016. Enrique Lores, HP's President and CEO, highlighted Parkhill's pivotal role in advancing the company's "Future Ready" strategy. This strategy includes workforce adjustments and investments in growth areas such as hybrid work solutions, peripherals, and gaming, alongside an emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence across HP's product portfolio.
In response to her appointment, Parkhill expressed enthusiasm about joining HP during a transformative period for both the company and the industry. She is set to leverage her extensive background in finance and innovation to drive HP's long-term sustainable growth. Parkhill also holds a directorship at American Express and has been actively involved in various leadership roles within community and educational organizations. This move underscores HP's strategic focus on operational rigor and financial stewardship under Parkhill's leadership, positioning the company for continued innovation and market growth.
