Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has announced the appointment of Katherine Gibson as Chief Financial Officer. Gibson had been serving as Interim CFO since April 2024, following her role as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Finance and Controller, where she managed global finance operations, including external and board reporting. "Katherine is an outstanding senior executive with global financial insights and leadership capabilities who can continue to advance our strategic priorities and position RBC for the future," said Dave McKay, RBC's President and CEO.
Gibson will be responsible for the oversight of finance for all RBC enterprises and functions, including financial planning, analysis, taxation, treasury, investor relations, and corporate development, in her capacity as CFO. She has accumulated a wealth of experience in leading global teams and advancing strategic initiatives during her 22-year tenure at RBC. Gibson has also been a member of the Enterprise Diversity Leadership Council, chaired the ESG Disclosure Committee, and served on numerous RBC committees. Gibson has a bachelor of commerce degree with distinctions from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
