Planet Fitness Appoints Jay Stasz as New CFO

Jay Stasz has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of Planet Fitness, one of the largest fitness center operators in the world. Stasz, a seasoned finance executive with over 25 years of experience in retail and consumer-facing industries, joined the company on November 4, 2024, and will work alongside outgoing CFO Tom Fitzgerald to ensure a smooth transition. Fitzgerald, who has served as CFO since 2020, will remain with the company through the end of the year and act as a consultant until March 31, 2025. Stasz most recently served as CFO at Savers Value Village, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s IPO in 2023. 

Planet Fitness, founded in 1992, operates 2,617 locations worldwide, including in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, with a mission to deliver a welcoming, high-quality fitness experience in a "Judgement Free Zone." CEO Colleen Keating expressed confidence in Stasz’s ability to drive the company’s strategic growth and enhance shareholder value, citing his proven expertise in optimizing growth. Stasz echoed his enthusiasm for the role, highlighting Planet Fitness's unique business model and growth opportunities. The company currently serves nearly 19.7 million members and operates over 90% of its locations through franchise partnerships.
