Thierry Piéton Named CFO of Medtronic to Lead Financial Strategy

Medtronic, a medical solutions agency, has announced the appointment of Thierry Piéton as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective March 3, 2025. Piéton will report directly to Medtronic's Chairman and CEO, Geoff Martha, and will join the company’s Executive Committee. He will succeed Gary Corona, who has been serving as interim CFO, and will transition to Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance. Piéton brings over two decades of financial leadership to Medtronic. He joins from Renault Group, where he has served as CFO since March 2022. Under his leadership, Renault achieved record operating margins and improved free cash flow. Piéton's experience spans both healthcare and manufacturing sectors, including key roles at Nissan, General Electric, and GE Healthcare. 

Piéton’s career has been marked by a focus on margin improvement, operational efficiency, and value creation for shareholders. As CFO, he will oversee Medtronic's global finance organization and key supporting functions, including treasury, controllership, tax, internal audit, investor relations, corporate strategy, and business development. His extensive background in operationally focused industries and complex regulatory environments is expected to drive Medtronic’s financial strategy forward, supporting continued growth and innovation. Piéton’s appointment signals a key moment in Medtronic’s continued evolution, with a focus on enhancing financial performance and delivering value to stakeholders.
