Vodafone Group Plc has announced the appointment of Pilar López as Chief Financial Officer Designate, effective 1 October 2025. She will take over from Luka Mucic, who had earlier confirmed his decision to leave the company. A formal transition period will begin in October, with Pilar assuming full responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director on Vodafone’s Board from 1 December 2025, following Mucic’s departure.
Welcoming the appointment, Vodafone Group CEO Margherita Della Valle stated, “I am delighted that Pilar will be joining Vodafone in October. She has deep-rooted knowledge of both the telecoms and technology sectors, across a range of international leadership positions.” Pilar López expressed enthusiasm about her new role, saying, “I’m thrilled to be joining Vodafone at such an important time in the Group’s transformation. I am excited to work with Margherita and the team as Vodafone continues to improve the service to its customers, further simplify operations across the Group, and deliver sustainable growth in free cash flow.” Vodafone Group Chair Jean-François van Boxmeer said that, after a thorough international search, he was pleased to welcome Pilar to Vodafone and the Board, noting that she brings valuable experience from the finance, telecoms, and technology sectors across Europe.
