Wolfspeed Appoints Gregor van Issum as Chief Financial Officer

Wolfspeed, a company specializing in silicon carbide technologies for high-performance use, has announced the appointment of Gregor van Issum as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 1, 2025. He will succeed Interim CFO Kevin Speirits, who will continue supporting the company during the transition. Issum will report directly to CEO Robert Feurle and will relocate to the company’s headquarters in Durham, North Carolina. With over two decades of experience in financial leadership and transformation within the technology sector, Issum previously held senior roles at ams-OSRAM AG and NXP Semiconductors. At ams-OSRAM, he served as executive vice president, group controller, and also as chief transformation and performance officer, where he played a significant role in cost-saving initiatives and sales strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Feurle said, “Gregor has helped lead large, multibillion euro businesses with complex manufacturing operations, which will be invaluable to Wolfspeed as we unlock the potential of our purpose-built 200mm platform.” Issum added, “In this new role, my priority will be providing Wolfspeed’s investors with transparency and clarity, especially during this transformative period.” He emphasized his focus on strengthening the company’s capital structure and profitability. His appointment follows the recent addition of David Emerson as Chief Operating Officer. Together, these leadership changes position Wolfspeed to more effectively navigate current market conditions and strengthen its presence in silicon carbide technology.
