Dollar General Corporation, America’s neighborhood general store, has announced the appointment of Donny Lau as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Lau will succeed current CFO Kelly Dilts. During the interim period, Chief Executive Officer Todd Vasos will serve as the Principal Financial Officer.
Welcoming the appointment, Vasos stated, “I am excited to welcome Donny back to Dollar General as our next CFO. Donny’s deep understanding of our business, culture and values and his impressive financial leadership and experience uniquely position him to drive excellence and create long-term shareholder value. I have full confidence in his ability to guide our financial organization forward.”
Lau brings extensive experience to his new role, having previously worked at Dollar General from 2017 to 2023 in a series of leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Strategy Officer. Most recently, he served as CFO of Zaxby’s Franchising. Earlier in his career, he held strategic and financial planning roles with Yum! Brands, and began his career in investment banking with Morgan Keegan & Company and Morgan Joseph. Dollar General emphasized that Lau’s return strengthens its leadership team and supports the company’s long-term commitment to growth and shareholder value.
