NAB Appoints Inder Singh as Group CFO and Group Executive, Strategy

National Australia Bank (NAB) has announced the appointment of Inder Singh as Group Chief Financial Officer and Group Executive, Strategy, subject to regulatory approvals. Singh, who is currently Chief Financial Officer at QBE Insurance Group, will oversee NAB’s Finance functions along with Strategy and Group Development teams.

NAB Group Chief Executive Officer Andrew Irvine said, “Inder is a seasoned financial services CFO with international and domestic experience and a successful leader focused on execution to drive results. His appointment clearly adds to the talent in our senior executive ranks at NAB.” Shaun Dooley, who has been serving as acting Group CFO since March 2025, will return to his role as Group Chief Risk Officer in March 2026.

Singh brings extensive experience in financial leadership and banking advisory. At QBE Insurance, he has driven performance improvements, investment strategies, and transformation initiatives, with a strong focus on technology. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking with Deutsche Bank and UBS in Australia and overseas, advising on bank strategy, mergers, acquisitions, and capital structures.

Commenting on his new role, Singh said, “This is the ideal next role for me and I am delighted to be joining NAB to work with Andrew and the broader leadership team.” He added that NAB’s ambition “to be the most customer-centric company in Australia and New Zealand was a major attraction.”
