Lambda has appointed Charles Fisher as Chief Financial Officer to oversee capital strategy and financial operations as the company prepares for further expansion in AI infrastructure. Founded in 2012 by machine learning engineers, Lambda develops high-performance computing systems used for AI training and inference and serves a broad base of researchers, enterprises, and hyperscale customers. Fisher previously served as CFO of Turo and earlier worked as Executive Vice President of Corporate Finance and Development at Charter Communications.
Announcing the appointment, CEO Stephen Balaban said, “Charles brings decades of experience from some of the fastest-growing and most capital-intensive businesses in America.”
Fisher succeeds Heather Planishek, who moved into the role from the company’s board to strengthen financial operations during a key stage of development. The new CFO is expected to expand Lambda’s capital markets capabilities as demand for large-scale AI computing continues to rise. Commenting on his new role, Fisher said, “I’m energized by the company’s ambition and the scale of the opportunity ahead. Building the financial infrastructure and capital framework to support sustained, long-term growth will be a key priority as Lambda continues to rise to meet the growing need for hyperscale AI infrastructure.” His appointment comes as the company continues to invest in infrastructure designed to support growing enterprise and hyperscale AI workloads.
