Citizens Financial Group, one of the nation’s oldest financial institutions, has appointed Aunoy Banerjee as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He will serve on the company’s Executive Committee and report directly to Chairman and CEO Bruce Van Saun. Banerjee holds an MBA degree from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from St. Stephen’s College at the University of Delhi. Commenting on the appointment, Van Saun said, “Aunoy is a seasoned leader with a broad background and strong record of accomplishment over his career. His experience in leading finance functions at multiple large financial institutions and overseeing highly complex transformation and optimization programs positions him well to have immediate impact as we execute our ambitious growth and transformation agenda.”
Banerjee joins Citizens from Barclays, where he was CFO of Barclays Bank PLC, managing a $1.4 trillion balance sheet and co-leading a major investment bank simplification program. Over his 25-year career, he also held senior roles at State Street, Citi, and General Electric, where he began his career in the Finance Management Leadership Program. At Citizens, Banerjee will oversee Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Line Finance Groups, Controller, Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, and Capital Management, along with Property & Procurement.
