eBay, Inc. has announced a leadership change with Steve Priest stepping down as CFO, effective May 11. Peggy Alford took over the role on May 12, with Priest remaining in an advisory capacity until July 31 to ensure a smooth transition. Priest played a crucial role during a life-changing period for eBay, helping the company navigate the challenges of the pandemic and establishing a strong foundation for its ongoing success. "Steve has been an exceptional partner during a period of significant transformation," expressed Jamie Iannone, CEO of eBay. “His leadership helped guide us through the uncertainty of the pandemic and laid the foundation for the strength and resilience we see in the business today. We are deeply grateful for his contributions and wish him the best." Steve Priest expressed that he felt privileged to collaborate with the leadership team and the many talented people across the company.

Alford, who brings over 20 years of experience in finance and operations, is stepping into the role at a pivotal time. “I’m truly excited to return to a company with such a rich history and legacy,” Alford said. “What I'm most excited about is the opportunity to help shape what comes next, partnering with Jamie and the leadership team to harness today’s technology in ways that make the experience for customers even more seamless, intuitive, and inspiring.” In addition to the CFO transition, eBay restructured its leadership to support innovation and long-term growth. These changes, including the CFO transition, aim to accelerate innovation and position eBay for growth in a rapidly developing, digital, and AI-driven future.
