MoneyGram has appointed Marc Winniford as Chief Financial Officer as it restructures its finance operations alongside a wider business reset. Winniford will oversee finance, accounting, tax, and treasury, and will report to Chairman and CEO Anthony Soohoo. Soohoo stated, “Marc brings deep financial expertise, a disciplined approach to capital management, and a strategic mindset that aligns with where MoneyGram is heading. As we transform our finance organization into an engine for operational excellence and growth, Marc's leadership will be key to continuing to strengthen our foundation and unlock new opportunities.”
Winniford joins from Wells Fargo, where he has served since 2022 as Chief Financial Officer of Corporate and Investment Banking, one of the bank’s core business segments. Over a 17-year tenure at Wells Fargo, he held senior roles across corporate finance, treasury, corporate development, and fixed income, with responsibility for financial planning, capital utilization, and performance management. Earlier in his career, he spent more than five years at Lazard, advising financial services firms on strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Winniford said MoneyGram’s transformation and its cross-border payments platform attracted him to the role, adding that finance will play a central role in supporting execution and long-term growth.
