Nestlé and WFO Launch Partnership to Strengthen Climate-Resilient Food Systems

Nestlé and the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) have launched a first-of-its-kind partnership aimed at strengthening global food systems as climate change places increasing pressure on agricultural communities. The WFO, which represents over one billion farmers across more than 50 countries, and Nestlé will work together to promote regenerative practices, develop viable farming models, and advocate for policies that reflect the realities farmers face.

As WFO President Arnold Puech d'Alissac noted, “Farmers are facing the challenges of climate change every day, but they are also driving the solutions.” He emphasized that meaningful progress requires “holistic approaches and collaboration across the value chain,” positioning the partnership as an effort to show how farmers and industry can work together “with trust and respect, to build food systems that are fair, resilient, and sustainable.”

The collaboration also focuses on strengthening rural economies and supporting the next generation of farmers by improving training, awareness, and long-term viability in supply chains such as dairy. Nestlé, which works with 600,000 farmers worldwide, aims to elevate farmers’ perspectives in global food policy discussions. Chris Hogg, Global Head of Public Affairs, said the company wants “to put farmers at the center and share their insights and concerns to help inform food policies,” highlighting how producers are “highly proficient at adapting and finding ways to work with the planet’s natural resources.”

Both organizations prioritize climate-resilient agriculture and community stability, framing the partnership as an opportunity to advance solutions that help farmers adapt while contributing to global food security.
