Plaid Names Seun Sodipo as CFO, Marks Next Phase of FinTech Expansion

Plaid has appointed Seun Sodipo as Chief Financial Officer as the fintech company continues expanding its products across credit, anti-fraud, and payments. Sodipo, a former Stripe Executive and CFO of beauty brand Glossier, described her appointment as a defining moment for the company. She succeeds Eric Hart, who served as Plaid’s first CFO before returning to Expedia earlier this year. In her new role, Sodipo aims to drive sustainable, long-term growth by focusing on areas of strong customer demand, enhancing data and analytics capabilities, and maintaining disciplined financial execution.

Her appointment comes as Plaid advances its strategy to broaden its product suite following the canceled Visa acquisition in 2021. The San Francisco-based company recently introduced LendScore, a tool designed to help financial institutions assess borrower risk through real-time cash flow and account activity data. Plaid’s network connects over 150 million consumers to more than 7,000 applications, with revenue from newer products more than doubling this year. As the company continues preparing for a potential IPO, its CFO plays a key role in managing the recently raised $575 million to strengthen operations, enhance liquidity, and support long-term financial readiness.
