The Trade Desk Names Alex Kayyal as Chief Financial Officer

The Trade Desk, a technology company that provides a cloud-based platform for digital advertising buyers, has appointed Alex Kayyal as Chief Financial Officer. Kayyal, who will report directly to CEO and Co-Founder Jeff Green, will oversee the company’s financial and investment strategy while continuing to serve on its Board of Directors. He succeeds Laura Schenkein, who is stepping down after more than a decade in finance leadership roles and will remain with the company through the end of 2025 to support a smooth transition. Announcing the appointment, Green said, “I could not be more excited to have Alex join our leadership team as CFO. He brings extensive experience and expertise in helping technology companies apply investment and financial strategies that drive significant scale and growth.”

Kayyal brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience across technology and investment firms. He previously held senior roles at Salesforce, including Senior Vice President and Managing Partner of Salesforce Ventures, and most recently served as a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners. Earlier in his career, he worked at Merrill Lynch and co-founded Hermes Growth Partners, where he led its investment in The Trade Desk. Reflecting on his new role, Kayyal said, “The Trade Desk occupies a unique position in the digital advertising landscape and is entering an exciting period of growth as it continues to deliver innovative value to clients and investors. I look forward to partnering with Jeff and the team to maximize the company’s potential in the many years ahead.”
